Andrew Pereira is an award winning journalist who joined the KITV4 News team in March 2012 as the station's senior reporter.
In 2010, he received the Edward R. Murrow Award and the Society of Professional Journalists award for his investigative reporting.
That same year he was honored with the Excellence Award on Community Reporting by the Chinatown Business and Community Association.
In 2011, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences San Francisco/Northern California Chapter nominated Andrew for two Emmy Awards for his series and feature news reporting.
In September 2012, Smart Business Hawaii and the Small Business Hawaii Entrepreneurial Education Foundation honored Andrew with the George Mason Outstanding Business Reporting Award.
More recently, in January 2015, Andrew was named as the best political reporter on Hawaii television by Chris Cillizza of The Washington Post blog The Fix.
Andrew began his journalism career in 1995 at KHNL News 8 where he rose from intern to executive producer of the station's morning news program. From August 2004 through April 2012, he reported for Fox News affiliate KHON2 News.
In his free time Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, surfing the waves of the North Shore, and playing futbal with his club teams Ohana SC and International FC.
