Jill Kuramoto joined the KITV4 news team in 1992.
As a general assignment reporter, she's covered everything from courts to crime to visiting heads of state. Jill is currently a co-anchor for KITV4 News This Morning.
Over the years, Jill has won numerous awards including the Society of Professional Journalists "Excellence In Journalism" award for Feature Reporting and General News Reporting. She has also been recognized by the state as an outstanding advocate for young children with her work on the KITV series, "Good Beginnings For Your Keiki."
Before moving to Hawaii, Jill worked in the West Coast markets of San Jose, San Francisco and San Diego. She was also an anchor and reporter in Guam where among her more notable stories was reporting from the eye of Super Typhoon Omar.
Jill holds a bachelor degree in Journalism from San Diego State University. She is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Asian American Journalists Association.
Jill keeps busy with volunteer work with various community organizations, including being a reader for the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
In her spare time, you might find Jill trying to hone her skills on a stand up paddle board or refining her short game on the golf course.
However, she most enjoys spending time with her husband and son and their dog, Koa.
