Catherine Cruz has been with KITV4 News for the last two decades.
She has worked as a beat reporter covering city hall, business, consumer and health issues.
In 1999, she received the Media Award for consistent and accurate reporting from the Hawaii State Teachers Association. In 1997, she was honored with the Media Progress award by the United Filipino Council and in 1991, the state Health Department recognized her work on a joint project with Kaiser Permanente's Pediatric Department.
Originally from Guam, Catherine attended college at San Francisco State University where she studied on broadcast journalism. She also attended Santa Clara University where she focused on Liberal Arts.
Catherine has dedicated time away from work to the American Red Cross, the American Youth Soccer Organization, and now serves as the programming chairwoman on the board of Pacific Islanders in Communication. The group was established by the Corporation of Public Broadcasting to promote cultural diversity on television.
