Big Island police arrested Michael Glendon, 29, in connection with a stabbing incident near Honolii Beach Park Monday.

Glendon of Keaau was caught on video last week giving public testimony before a Hawaii County reapportionment panel. He danced and sang in front of the panel with a dagger-like weapon. The video can be found at here.

South Hilo patrol officers responded to a call for assistance at 11:00 a.m. Monday. They found a 29-year-old Hilo man had injuries to his lower back following an altercation on Kahoa Road in front of the Honolii lookout area.

The victim was taken by a private vehicle to Hilo Medical Center for treatment. At last check, the man was in stable condition.

Glendon was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Monday on suspicion of first-degree assault. He is being held at the Hilo police cellblock while detectives continue the investigation.

It is not known if the weapon was recovered.
