Fla. teacher suspended after abuse arrest
A Florida teacher has been arrested and accused of abusing students, including a 4-year-old girl.
Alison Workman turned herself in to authorities in Brevard County after a three-week investigation.
Officials said a fellow teacher saw Workman grabbing children. The mother of one 4-year-old victim said her daughter, a special-needs student, was left with a scar on her ankle.
"I was outraged," that mother said. "I send my daughter to school along with my other two children, and I expect them to be in a safe environment."
Workman is charged with two counts of felony child abuse, one for each child she's accused of hurting.
She has been suspended from her teaching position as the investigation continues.
