KAILUA, Hawaii -

The Kailua Fireworks Committee held an event Saturday at the Kailua Shopping Center trying to gather help.

The group’s message was that while the shave ice they were giving away was free, the Fourth of July fireworks aren’t. Without public help, this year’s show on Kailua Bay will not happen.

The group has all the permits necessary to conduct the show, but must raise enough money to pay for it.

Those wishing to help can go to the “As Seen On KITV” section of this site to contribute.
