HONOLULU -

Honolulu police said a 29-year-old Kapolei man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a hit-and-run death in Windward Oahu.

A 19-year-old Hawaii Pacific University student was killed Sunday night while walking in a crosswalk in front of her school.

It happened right in front of HPU's Hawaii Loa campus.

The woman killed was identified in a Facebook page as Mariah Danforth-Moore. A "rest in peace" Facebook page had been set up, allowing many to share their memories and pictures of Danforth-Moore.

Danforth-Moore, an HPU psychology student, was walking across Kamehameha Highway around 8:45 p.m. Sunday when she was struck by a car.

After the hit-and-run incident, witnesses saw a white sedan with dark rims and dark tint heading toward Kaneohe.
