The National Weather Service in Honolulu has allowed a flash flood warning for the Big Island to expire at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
A flash flood watch continues to be posted for the Big Island until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Forecasters say the heavy rains that brought flooding to the area have subsided, but runoff is still occurring and streams will remain high for much of the day.
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding.
Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.
Do not cross fast-flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.
