Flood advisory cancelled for West Hawaii

HONOLULU -

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for the Big Island until 5:15 p.m. due to locally heavy showers along West Hawaii.

At 3:42 p.m., radar and rain gauges showed rain rates up to 2-inch-per-hour along the slopes of the South Kona district.

Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to, Keahole Point, Kailua-Kona, Captain Cook and Honaunau.

Shortly after 5 p.m., the advisory was cancelled.
