#25. Mayonnaise: Sure, it's a popular sandwich spread, but many diners hold the mayo because "it smells like death," "makes me gag," or "stops hearts dead in their tracks."
#24. Eggplant- Many vegetarians were disappointed that eggplant made this list. Others, not so much. "It tastes like boiled boots and takes even longer to chew!"
#23. Avocado- The popularity of guacamole made this a surprise to our list. "Avocado reminds me of eating a spoiled cantelope." Now that's imagery!
#22. Tofu - Again, vegetarians love it! Those that hate it say tofu "has no flavor" or it "tastes like a sponge." Please do not try eating sponges at home!
#21. Anchovies: "Eating anchovies is like eating salty hair." Most people would probably rather try the anchovies than the hair.
#20. Spinach: The biggest knock against spinach from Facebook viewers was "it has no taste." That is, after you get past all the Popeye jokes!
#19. Turnips: The most common complaint about turnips is they "taste like dirt." The most interesting post was "turnips burn my mouth." Um, OK.
#18. Black Licorice: The only candy on our list, one viewer said he'd "rather lick my car tires" than eat licorice. Good luck with that!
#17. Tuna Fish: "Sorry, Charlie" references were plentiful in response to tuna. Others said it "smells like something I feed the cat."
#16. Onions: We found that with onions, people dislike them depending on how they're prepared (raw, grilled, etc.). Almost everyone does agree, thought, that onion rings are delicious!
#15. Buttermilk - "Buttermilk tastes the way a barn smells. No matter how hard you try, you can never, ever get the taste out of your mouth!"
#14. Raisins: "Not only do raisins look like dead flies, they taste as bad." Apparently, someone's pet frog has a Facebook page.
#13. Oysters: "Eating an oyster is the equivalent of scooping stagnant sludge from the ocean floor and serving it as an entree."
#12. Green Peas: "Peas get in the way of real food." Another viewer told us she goes as far as "picking the peas out of vegetable soup."
#11. Sour Cream: While many fans of Mexican food love sour cream, the top complaint on Facebook is it "gives me instant gag reflex."
#10. Cottage Cheese - Did you know people who hate cottage cheese have their own Facebook page? Critics say it "smells spoiled," "looks chewed already," and "tastes like baby formula."
#9. Broccoli: The word "yucky" appeared the most in response to broccoli. Do 5-year-olds have Facebook pages?
#8. Spam: "What's worse than the taste of Spam? That creepy sound it makes when it comes out of the can!"
#7. Brussel Sprouts: The best posts about brussel sprouts "were not fit for human consumption" and taste like "shoe leather." Are that many people tasting their shoes?
#6. Beets: Most people can't get past the radioactive glow of beets. More vividly put, "beets taste like a damp basement smells."
#5. Okra: The biggest problem people have with okra is "too slimy." The most interesting post said, "I don't like okra because I've never tried it." Wait, how does that work?
#4. Eggs: This is the most polarizing item on the list. While many people love eggs, others "can't stand the texture" or feel like they are "eating baby chickens."
#3. Mushrooms: This drew our most prolific response. "Mushrooms feel like dead flesh that's been in a lake for a week. Not to mention they smell like dirt. I think they are evil."
#2. Lima Beans: Several viewers told childhood tales of sitting all night at the dinner table until their lima beans were eaten. Or not, as the case may be.
#1. Liver: Many liver critics admitted they had never tried it, saying they couldn't bear to eat such a "dirty organ." Those that have tried it say liver "induces vomiting."
