Interim executive director of the Hawai'i Health Connector testified on Capitol Hill early Thursday regarding problems with state health exchanges.

WASHINGTON -

Interim Executive Director of the Hawai'i Health Connector Tom Matsuda testified on Capitol Hill Thursday regarding low enrollment numbers for state health exchanges.

"Hawaii's Prepaid Health Care Act requirements are generally stricter than those of the federal Affordable Care Act.  As a result, Hawaii generally has a low uninsure rate, estimated at 8 percent of 100,000 individual," said Matsuda.

Matsuda and other health care exchange directors appeared before two subcommittees of the House Oversight Committee.
