A 2013 poll by Gallup-Healthways broke down smoking rates by state according to results of a phone survey of 178,000 people nationwide. Here are the 10 states with the most smokers.
10. Michigan -- 23.2 percent
9. Tennessee -- 23.6 percent
8. Louisiana -- 24.1 percent
7. (tie) Indiana -- 24.7 percent
7. (tie) Missouri -- 24.7 percent
5. Ohio -- 25.0 percent
4. Oklahoma -- 25.2 percent
3. Mississippi -- 27 percent
2. West Virginia -- 29.9 percent
1. Kentucky -- 30.2 percent
