Central Pacific Bank was founded 60 years ago on February 15, 1954.  As part of Central Pacific Bank’s 60th anniversary celebration, the bank is honoring its founders and thanking its customers by holding a 50 Cents Plate Lunch Sale.

In the early 1950s, a group of nisei World War II veterans had a dream of creating a bank to serve all of Hawaii’s people.  Meeting regularly at Ala Moana Beach Park with their 50 cent plate lunch, Central Pacific Bank was conceived.

Proceeds from the sale will be donated to the food banks on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.

The sale will be on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 11 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.  It will be at eight branches -- Kapolei, Kaneohe, Kapalama, Pearl Highlands, Kahului, Kapaa, Hilo and Kona.
