DELAND, Fla. -

A central Florida woman faces multiple charges after deputies said she kicked her 66-year-old mother and punched an 8-year-old who tried to defend her.

Volusia County Sheriff's deputies then said that 41-year-old Rebecca Jenks later hit an inmate wearing handcuffs at the jail. Jenks is charged with battery, child abuse, battery on a person detained in jail and driving with a license that's been revoked.

Deputies said Jenks was heavily intoxicated when she was arrested Sunday. The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported her mother tried to calm her down but Jenks started kicking her. When the child tried to defend the older woman, Jenks pushed the girl and punched her in the back of the neck.

Once deputies managed to get her into a holding cell, she slipped out of the handcuffs and slapped an inmate.

A check of the Volusia County Sheriff's website showed that Jenks has been arrested seven times there, including twice this year.
