Bitter singles pull Valentine’s Day prank

Valentine's Day isn't for everyone. Clearly.
A group of single people in Shanghai, China has purchased every odd-numbered seat for a February 14 showing of a popular romantic movie at a theater in the city's bustling Xintiandi shopping complex, reports the Shanghai Morning Post. The purpose of the mass purchase was to prevent couples from sitting together in the theater on Valentine's Day.
The prank's organizer posted a social media message that reads, "Want to see a movie on Valentine's Day? Sorry, you'll have to sit separately. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Give us singles a chance."
The organizer told the Shanghai Morning Post that he and his girlfriend broke up last year and that he came up with the stunt while pondering what to do on Valentine's Day alone.
