Penis posts Scott Pennsylvania

New concrete posts are arousing controversy in one Pennsylvania township for what they resemble.

Some residents say the traffic deflectors installed along two streets in Scott Township look too much like penises, with their elongated shafts and rounded tops, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

"People are laughing at it. They're calling it Penis Road," resident Pat Martin told township commissioners at a meeting last week.

Commissioner Bill Wells suggested flattening the tops of the posts, according to UPI.

"I think it would improve the appearance," he said.

Town Manager Denise Fitzgerald said the state Department of Transportation approved the posts -- including their design -- but promised to look into the cost of redesigning or even replacing them.

Commissioner Pat Caruso attributed some of the remarks to people with "weird minds."
