Red Robin ad mocks vegetarians

Some vegetarians are taking issue with a new Red Robin commercial that compares them to finicky teenage girls.
The recent ad highlights the restaurant chain's 24 different burger options, but it's the off-handed reference to veggie burgers at the end of the spot that is drawing criticism, Business Insider reported.
"We even have a garden burger just in case your teenage daughter is going through a phase," an actress in the new commercial says.
Angry vegetarians took to Red Robin's Facebook page to complain, with some calling for the ad to be pulled immediately.
"Calling vegetarians a 'teenage phase' is disgusting," wrote user Albertha Ladina.
Others say anyone offended needs to lighten up.
"Five stars for having a little fun! What a sad existence you have if you can't laugh at yourself. Don't take life so seriously. Funny commercial, great job," user Paul Semhon wrote.
Even so, it looks like the ad's days are numbered, Kevin Caulfield, Red Robin's senior director of communications, told The Huffington Post.
"We created a number of ads and we have a rotation schedule that is intended to keep the campaign fresh. This particular ad is planned to be out of rotation and no longer on the air very soon," he said.
