LIHUE, Hawaii -

CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to arrest of attempted murder suspect Justin Wynn Klein on Kauai.

A grand jury has indicted Klein, 37, in connection with the attempted murder of a Japanese visitor in the Kalalau Valley in December.

Bail on the warrant is set at $1 million.

"We ask the public to remain vigilant in locating Klein as our officers continue their search for him," stated Kauai Police Chief Darryl Perry.  "There is an attempted murder suspect still at-large and we want to find him and bring him to justice."

Police have followed up on numerous tips received since the incident occurred, but the searches failed to turn up any sign of the homeless suspect.

As incoming tips have dwindled in recent weeks, KPD is issuing this reminder in hopes of reigniting public awareness.

A witness reported seeing Klein throw a 31-year-old Japanese visitor from a cliff in the Kalalau Valley on the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 16.

The female victim was transported to Wilcox Hospital in critical condition, where she remained for 10 days before being released to her family who escorted the woman home.

Klein is 6-feet-1-inch-tall, with brown hair in a Mohawk style, possibly a moustache and beard, and a band tattoo around his left arm.
