CAPTAIN COOK, Hawaii -

Big Island police released new information Friday regarding a shooting incident in Kona.

Police say both the victim and the suspect are tenants in a house being rented to several people along Highway 11 in Honaunau.

Police were called to the house at about 6:30 Thursday night. They found a 52-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Police say the man was taken by ambulance to Kona Community Hospital in critical but stable condition.

Police arrested another tenant in the house on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder. The suspect is 44-year-old Monte Moreau, according to police.
