Nicole Antos meets and thanks the person who saved her life after an accident at China Walls in Hawaii last week.

HONOLULU -

Caution warnings to swimmers at China Walls do little to keep people out of the water. A 15-year-old girl found herself in a lot of trouble until a woman came to her rescue.

Unable to stand well from her injuries Nicole Antos anxiously waited in the car to meet the woman who she says saved her life.

"I'm so excited I can't wait to thank her and see her," said Nicole.

She's been searching for the woman since her accident last Thursday afternoon at China Walls. It is a popular spot to jump off the cliff into the ocean.

Nicole was just having some spring break fun, but as she was climbing back up the cliff's wall she said a wave smashed into over and over again eventually pulling her into the ocean. She thought she wasn't going to make it until she heard Nohea Rochlen's voice.

"She said get on Aunties board and she paddled me in," said Nicole.

"Her eyes told me everything. I realized we don't need to be close to the wall, I threw her onto my board and we just sort of got away from the rocks and reefs and onto a shelf," said Rochlen.

Rochlen said she's been thinking about Nicole since the accident.

"That whole night I had images of your knees," said Rochlen.

Nicole had to get 20 stitches, she ruptured tendons in her knee, and fractured her elbow. Her father's just glad that is all the damage. He said he is forever grateful that a stranger rescued his little girl.

"Thank you so much, I have no words, I have no words," said Nicole's father.

Nicole said she can sigh with relief now that she's thanked her hero. But Rochlen shies away from that description.

"Anybody in the water that day would have helped her out of the water," said Rochlen.

Nicole said she probably won't be going back to China Walls anytime soon. Rochlen and Nicole plan to keep in touch and surf together in the future.
