Disney's "The Lion King" musical will be back for an 8-week run at the Neal Blaisdell Center in January 2014.
The musical is close to $1 billion in box office receipts.
The Honolulu show next year is expected to bring in $30 million.
Many of the show's performers and backstage production crews are from the islands.
The Honolulu run starts on Jan. 14, 2014 with the premiere recognizing the Boys & Girls Club of Honolulu and the islands' military.
Group ticket sales start on March 28 at the Hawaii Opera Theatre box office. Individual tickets will be available this summer.
