3.5-magnitude quake off Oahu not a tsunami threat

HONOLULU -

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said no tsunami threat is expected after a 3.5-magnitude earthquake off of Waimanalo Beach Monday.

It happened at around 10:30 a.m. with an epicenter about 8 miles off of Waimanalo Beach, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake had a depth of nearly 21 miles.  At least one person said a loud "boom" was heard and the ground shook.
