A 52-year-old mother of three is recuperating in intensive care at Straub Clinic and Hospital. Jullie Stephenson was robbed steps away from her apartment on Feb 2.
Jennifer Feathers was in shock when she saw her mother in the hospital.

"She was just laying there with tubes down her throat all over the place, and wasn't opening her eyes or anything," said Feathers.

In front of the ABC Superette off Ala Moana Boulevard. Stephenson's nephew said, "This is the last place my auntie was seen before the attack. She comes in here and buys her groceries. She doesn't drive far. She's usually walking to work."

Just around the corner is the entrance of The Tradewinds apartment complex where Jullie Stephenson has lived for 12 years.

"My mom was walking home from the ABC store and this is where it happened right around here," said Feathers.

Johnson said Stephenson felt a shove then a push on her right shoulder. She then fell to the ground.

Police said the suspect fled with Stephenson's purse, leaving her with multiple injuries. She had a broken hip and ended up in the intensive care unit for internal bleeding.

"She was unconscious for seven days and she's awake now and moving her hands and feet, so we've definitely seen signs of life coming from her," said Johnson

Feathers said investigators have a person of interest, but with Stephenson in a coma it has been difficult to follow leads.

"They can't get her side of the story first, so it's just frustrating that they can't get this guy before he does this to someone else," said Feathers.

Stephenson could get out of ICU on Sunday.

Honolulu police are asking for any witnesses to call Honolulu Crimestoppers at 955-8300.
