WAIANAE, Hawaii -

Honolulu police are looking for a man wanted for an armed robbery at the Reynolds Recycling redemption center in Nanakuli Tuesday.

Police said the robbery happened at 9 a.m.  The suspect threatened an employee with a handgun and took cash.  So far no arrests have been made.

The marketing director of Reynolds Recycling said the staff was not harmed in the robbery.

"Reynolds Recycling is cooperating with the authorities. We hope the culprit is apprehended and brought to justice," said Bruce Iverson, director of Marketing and Development for Reynolds Recycling.

Reynolds Recycling said it is upgrading its robbery protocols for the redemption centers.  The company also said that armed robberies of their facilities are rare.

The vice-principal at Nanaikapono Elementary said the school was on lockdown between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  The lockdown was a precaution by police.
