Body found in Wilson Lake identified as missing elderly man

The Honolulu Medical Examiner said Friday that a man whose body was found in Lake Wilson in Wahiawa Monday drowned.

He was identified as 73-year-old Melvin Kunimitsu of Pearl City.

Honolulu Police confirmed that Kunimitsu was the subject of a missing persons search.

Kunimitsu was last seen alive at his Pearl City home on December 7, according to a missing persons report from police. Friday at his home in Pearl City.  

His car was found the following day at the entrance to Wahiawa town. Kunimitsu suffered from a disorienting medical condition.
