Boy calls 911 after mom tells him to go to bed
A 10-year-old boy called 911 on his mother Wednesday night -- not because of any emergency, but because he didn’t want to go to bed.
Dan, who lives at Terminal Place, called 911 at 8:09 p.m., according to the police log, and told the dispatcher he was calling on his mother because he did not want to go to bed.
“He got really mad. He said, ‘You’re mean. I'm going to call the cops.’ I said, ‘Go ahead. Call the cops,’” Shamayne Rosario said.
The family rules are clearly written out, but somehow there wasn't anything about not calling for help when it's not really necessary.
Dan was too embarrassed to talk about the incident, but mom said he’s learned his lesson, and so have her other five children, especially when an officer showed up at the door.
“I showed him to his room. My son was under the covers not wanting to show his face. I asked him to sit up pay attention to authority, pay attention and respect adults,” she said.
No charges were filed.
