Southbound lanes of Interstate 71 finally reopened this morning at Ft. Washington Way, more than 15 hours after a crash.

The lanes had been closed after a truck crash just after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

An officer on scene says the truck spilled honey onto the roadway, making for a difficult cleanup.

Two street sweeper trucks helped remove the mess, while crews put down absorbent material that allowed cars to drive over whatever couldn't be picked up.

The lanes reopened at about 8:15 a.m.
