Jon Quicquaro missed the birth of his first child two years ago, but he more than made up for it the second time around.

Quicquaro and his pregnant wife, Rochelle, were on their way to Excela Westmoreland Hospital on Thursday afternoon when it became clear they weren't going to make it in time.

"My mind was like, 'I don't want to have a baby in a car," Rochelle Quicquaro said.

"I knew when we were driving we were not going to make it," Jon Quicquaro said. "I can tell I just need to find somewhere safe for all of us, where we can just go it and enjoy it, and we did. It was like the best day of my life."

Quicquaro called 911 dispatchers, who talked him through the delivery process in the parking lot of the Barnes and Noble along Route 30 in Greensburg.

Not long after, he and his wife were the proud parents of a baby boy named Wesley.

"No baby book at Barnes and Noble could prepare you for this," the proud father said.

Two years ago, Quicquaro missed the birth of his first child, Maci, while he was serving in the Navy. This time, he missed his computer science final at the University of Pittsburgh for Wesley's birth.

Quicquaro's wife and newborn son were doing well and resting at Excela Westmoreland Hospital.
