The Albuquerque BioPark will host a unique food festival this Sunday where they will serve up creepy, crawly critters for those brave enough to chow down.
It is all part of the parks annual Creeping Crawling Cuisine Event. Bugs like crickets and worms will be served to the diners.
Darrick George was one of a few BioPark customers who got a preview of the bug meal earlier this week.
“It tasted like chicken, so I’m leaning towards it… I just love the texture, the way it feels,” he said after chowing down on a snicker doodle topped with meal worms.
Bonnie Carpenter said the crickets didn't sit well with her palate.
"Ugh, that's terrible,” she said. "You know what, it's still a good day though, cause I'm from New York and I could be in the middle of that mess. I'd rather be eating bugs."
Action 7 News' own Will Carr even got the opportunity to sample the six-legged treats.
"Ugh, it definitely does not taste like chicken," Carr said after stuffing a meal worm in his mouth.
The event costs $25 and will be held from 6 to 9 pm. Sunday night.
