KAHALUU, Hawaii -

Staff Sgt. Matthew K. Fragas was only 30 years old when he was killed in June in a hit-and-run crash, leaving behind a young family.  Friends have organized a fundraiser to benefit his children, 8-year old Zane and 5-year-old Duke.

The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, August 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the King Intermediate School Football Field.

There will be live musical entertainment including Grammy and Na Hoku Hanohano Award nominee Daring Leong with Jon Yamasato, formerly of Pure Heart.  Tino Moe and Tamatoa will also be there along with Bamboo Crew.

Food will include a Hawaiian plate from Masa & Joyce as well as burgers and fries.

Family-friendly activities will include bouncers, face and hair painting, pony rides and a petting zoo.  Adults will enjoy the silent auction, massage tent and memorabilia display.

Presale tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 10 to 17.  Tickets for entry and food will be sold at Masa & Joyce at 45-582 Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe on Saturday, July 21 and Saturday, July 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

At the door, adults are $20 and children ages 10 and up are $15.  Children under 10 are free.

Fragas was a 2000 graduate of Castle High School and enlisted with the 154th Services Flight, Hawaii Air National Guard in 2002.  In 2010, he was named the 624th RSG Noncommissioned Officer of the Year.

He left behind two sons and his wife Nola.
