SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -

A shocking find was in a Seminole County trash bin Tuesday morning -- gifts that were supposed to be shipped to children Haiti.

Plastic containers neatly packaged with toys and necessity items inside were found in what was supposed to be an empty trash container.

Marie and Stefano LaCommare found the gifts, marked in age groups, boys and girls, Tuesday, as they emptied the trash from their family restaurant.

Some of the boxes contained toys, while others some necessity items.

Community United Methodist Church, located on U.S. 17-92, has come forward and told WESH 2 that the gifts belong to them.

A spokesperson for the church said they hired someone to deliver the items to Haiti for a $900 fee, and that the person must have ditched the gifts in the trash.

That person was supposed to be paid after the delivery was complete, so they did not receive any payment.

The church spokesman said he's learned a valuable lesson and that the items will eventually get to Haiti.
