A final aloha for a fallen Honolulu police officer on Saturday.

Memorial services for Officer Chad Morimoto began in the morning with the funeral motorcade making a pass before Honolulu Police Department headquarters.

His fellow officers honored the solo bike officer with a solemn salute.

Family and friends were then able to say their final goodbyes at a memorial service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kalihi.

Morimoto will be buried at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery in Kaneohe.

"That's what the family wanted to convey.  The people of Hawaii have been very, very nice and thoughful in sharing their regards whether it be by email or Facebook or postings or even sending gifts to their house," said family spokesman Tenari Maafala.  "So, they're very, very thankful."

Officer Morimoto was killed when he crashed during motorcycle escort training in Mililani on July 23.

Morimoto was an eight-year veteran of HPD.  He was 39 years old.
