A 24-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition after she was hit by a car in Kaka'ako, according to police.

It happened just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Kapiolani Boulevard and Ward Avenue.

Investigators say a 72-year-old man was driving a Toyota Corolla westbound in the far right lane on Kapiolani Boulevard when the car struck the pedestrian.

Police say she was not in a marked crosswalk.
