LIHUE, Hawaii -

Kauai Police have arrested attempted murder suspect Justin Wynn Klein.

A tipster alerted authorities to a possible sighting of Klein at Lydgate Beach Park Saturday afternoon.  Officers located and arrested Klein near the pavilions.

Klein has been on the run since Dec. 16, when he was reportedly seen throwing a 31-year-old Japanese visitor from a cliff in the Kalalau Valley.  The victim was taken to Wilcox Hospital in critical condition.  She was hospitalized for over a week before returning home to Japan.

Authorities closed the hiking trail and conducted a four-day sweep for Klein.  The search turned into an islandwide investigation, requesting the public's assistance.

Now arrested, Klein remains in police custody at this time.
