Makiki robbery suspect turns himself in to police
Honolulu police said a 34-year-old man wanted for a Makiki convenience store robbery turned himself in to authorities Wednesday morning.
The Pensacola Mart at the corner of Pensacola and Davenport Street in Makiki was robbed 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Surveillance cameras captured clear video of the robber. He took about $300 to $400 from the cash register.
The cashier said this is not the first time thieves stole items from the store, but this is the first time she saw a gun used.
The man was arrested at HPD headquarters on suspicion of robbery in the first degree and use of a firearm.
No one was injured in the robbery.
