A 24-year-old man charged with attempted murder for stabbing a man outside of Mayor Wright Homes made his first court appearance Monday.
The stabbing happened early Thursday morning, according to police.
According to court documents, John Posco Sukuruta got drunk with his cousin in a Mayor Wright Homes apartment when he became erratic and walked down Liliha Street.
Sukuruta approached a man in his 20s and stabbed him three times in his cheek and shoulder for unknown reasons.
The victim was bleeding profusely when paramedics arrived, but he was listed in stable condition when he was taken to the hospital.
Sukuruta fled the scene but was identified by a witness and later caught. Sukuruta has no local address.
Sukuruta is being held on $75,000 bail. He is set to be back in court on Wednesday.
