KIHEI, Hawaii -

Maui police say a 52-year-old man was arrested Thursday after finding a suspected drug lab in Kihei.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home on Luakaha Circle at around 1:20 p.m.  Steven E. Jones was the only person found in the home.

Police recovered 15 methadone hydrochloride 10 mg pills, two glass smoking pipes containing crystal methamphetamine, and paraphernalia associated with the use and distribution of crystal methamphetamine.

Officers also found six mopeds -- two of which were confirmed to be reported stolen, and four which were suspected to be stolen.  Fourteen 30-30 Win rounds of ammunition and a black jack dangerous weapon were also found, according to police.

Within Jones' bedroom, officers found a suspected methamphetamine lab.  Experts found that it was a meth lab but was not actively functioning when it was found.

Police contacted the state health department and the State Narcotics Enforcement Division to assist with the recovery and disposal of the lab.

Jones was arrested on drug, vehicle theft and firearms charges as well as a couple of bench warrants.

Police issued an All Points Bulletin for the owner of the residence, Deborah Davidson, and her live-in boyfriend, Curtis Welch to be arrested on vehicle theft charges.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts are asked to contact the Maui Police Department at 808-244-6400 or Maui Crimestoppers at 808-242-6966.
