LONGWOOD, Fla. -

A mother faces several charges after authorities found her sitting in a car with a crack pipe in her hand while her child was left in the back seat, according to police.

Aurelia Kambic, 32, was parked outside a Longwood Big Lots store when a customer who thought Kambic looked troubled called authorities Sunday night.

In an arrest report, officers wrote that the caller told them Kambic appeared “out of it.”

"There's a young lady parked," said the 911 caller. "She looks stoned out of her face and I just pulled away and there's a baby seat in the back. I'm just very concerned."

When the officer made contact with her, she seemed disoriented and did not immediately respond to the officer.

Officer Jose Gonzalez wrote in his report that he asked for Kambic’s driver’s license and then noticed she was holding a glass pipe – a pipe the officer recognized as one used to smoke crack cocaine, according to the officer's report.

Kambic and the officer struggled when he asked Kambic to exit her vehicle. He wrote in the report that Kambic flung the pipe under the vehicle and that it was still warm when he recovered it. A field test of residue on the pipe showed positive for cocaine.

The officer asked Kambic how old her child is and she told them the child was 2 weeks old. The child’s father was called and the child is now in his care.

Kambic was booked into jail on child neglect and drug charges.
