If you bought tickets to next month's Stevie Wonder concert or were thinking of going, no more tickets are available. The August fundraiser is cancelled.

HONOLULU -

University of Hawaii Athletics Director Jim Donovan announced Tuesday afternoon that Stevie Wonder will not be available for an August 18 concert at the Stan Sheriff Center.

”The University has been informed by Stevie Wonder's agent, Creative Artists Agency that the artist is not available for an August 18, 2012 concert. The event was booked by an authorized third party without the knowledge and consent of Mr. Wonder's representatives," said Donovan.

It is not clear if UH will have to take legal action to get  $200,000 it put down as an advance.

UH students were shocked at the news.

“My friend is a musician and she was telling me about it and I was interested in going," aid Tannisha Duncan.

"That would have been a cool concert to go to, Stevie Wonder," said Ikaika Coffer.

The Stan Sheriff Center box office will be giving out refunds to those who bought tickets on campus starting Wednesday.  You need to return the tickets to the box office to get a refund.

If you purchased tickets via phone or online, credits make up to a week.

The event was billed as a fundraiser for the financially strapped UH Athletics Department.  Donovan said the department stood to make as much as $250,000 on the benefit concert.

The concert was produced in association with Bob Peyton/BPE Entertainment Productions.

About 6,000 tickets were sold, as of Tuesday.
