Surfers looking for waves this morning find a body instead. Honolulu police have not been able to identify the body but believe the woman is in her late 20's to 30's. Investigators say she was fully clothed and even had her shoes on.

HONOLULU -

A soft-spoken surfer goes to Kewalo Basin every morning for waves and serenity.  What he found Tuesday morning was traumatic.

"I saw something floating.  It looks like a chair," said Paul Evangelista.  "I went to go check and come in closer and realized it was a person."

Evangelista found a woman's body past the shore break at around 7 a.m.

"She was stiff.  She wasn't breathing and she wasn't responding," said Evangelista.

So, he called for help and nearby surfers paddled over to bring the body to shore.

"It was kind of scary.  I didn't want to leave her out there," said Evangelista.

Honolulu police have not been able to identify the victim, but they believe the woman is in her late 20s to 30s.

Investigators say she was fully clothed and even had her shoes on.  Police do not know how she died, but do not think her death was suspicious at this time.

"We're currently doing an investigation.  We are in the preliminary steps of the investigation.  As we know more we will release that," said Lt. Benjamin Mahi.
