For the second day in a row, a pedestrian is killed on the streets of Oahu.

HONOLULU -

The pedestrian who was fatally killed by an oncoming vehicle in Kaneohe has been identified as 81-year-old George Obata from Kaneohe.

According to police, Obata crossed the street to purchase papaya at a residence on Saturday.

Obata was not in a crosswalk when he was hit by a car driven by a 39-year-old man with two other passengers inside.  Police said bad visibility due to weather may be factor in the accident.

No arrests have been made, pending investigation.  Police said it is the second pedestrian fatality in 2013.
