Sixty homes were without water in the Waipahu area on Sunday, according to the Board of Water Suply.
Crews were dispatched to work on a 12-inch water main break. The pipe was originally installed in 1971.
The water main break happened just after 6 a.m. Sunday morning near Waipahu and Hianakiu Streets.
Police closed lanes in both directions at the intersection. A water wagon was stationed near the intersection for affected homes to get water.
Water service was restored by 4 p.m. The road was reopened by 12:45 a.m. Monday.
