Adoption advocate faces child sex assault charges
An adoption advocate was taken to Oahu Community Correctional Center on child sex assault charges Monday.
Louis Martinez is the former executive director of Heart Gallery Hawaii, part of a national organization that encourages adoption of foster children.
He was charged in early July with attempted sexual assault involving an 11-year-old girl. Last year, he was charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl allegedly in her sleep after giving her hard liquor.
Martinez, who is also known as David Barber and David Louis, pleaded not guilty. He is being held on $400,000 dollars bail.
Trial is expected to start in September.
