Ala Moana stand-up paddler rescued by 2 surfers

Two surfers came the rescue of a stand-up paddler at Ala Moana on Mother's Day.

HONOLULU -

A 41-year-old stand-up paddler was rescued by two surfers who came to his aid at Ala Moana Beach Park on Mother's Day, according to Ocean Safety officials.

The man suffered back pains while on the water.  A surfer who had a cell phone with him in the water called 911.

Rescuers brought the stand-up paddler to shore.  He was transported to a local trauma center in serious condition.
