Man, 70, dies after pulled from Ala Moana waters

HONOLULU -

A 70-year-old man died after he was apparently swimming at Ala Moana Beach Park, according to police.

Paramedics were called to the scene at around 2:45 p.m.  The man was initially hospitalized in extremely critical condition.

Emergency Medical Services officials say the man was experiencing trouble in the water.  Another swimmer helped the man to get to shore and lifeguards pulled him out of the water and began CPR.

Fire crews also responded to the scene.

Police say there are no signs of foul play.
