A man who police said runs naked in the Bosque, where families picnic and ride bikes, continues to elude authorities.

Albuquerque police said the man has been spotted off and on for years, mostly around the trail areas, near Bridge and Central streets. The jogger has never tried to hurt anyone, but officers said running naked in a public, open space is illegal.

"If he happens to be taking a jog while unclothed and runs into a group of kids, well, it crosses a certain line there with charges that he's facing," said APD Commander Harold Medina.

Police said the man is quick to elude police, running across the Rio Grande and hiding in the thick brush from officers.

Officers said the man has also been spotted sunbathing on the sand bars of the Rio Grande.
