Honolulu Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fight that resulted in the death of 38-year-old John Melvin Howard in Ewa Beach on March 23.

According to police arrest records, the 18-year-old Kalihi man was arrested without incident around 5:45 p.m. Saturday at the HPD headquarters on Beretania Street. He faces a Murder 2 charge.
The fatal fight that man is believed to have been involved with happened at around 12:20 a.m. last week Sunday at 91-965 Komana Street.
Witnesses told KITV they saw a black sports car pull up on Komana Street and the people inside exchanged words with Howard before driving off.
Witnesses then saw three men walk up to Howard, one kicking him in the chest, causing him to fall to the ground.
One of the men then apparently snapped a picture of Howard on the ground before leaving the scene.
Howard was transported in critical condition but died at the hospital Monday.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner later determined that Howard died from a head injury.
Two other suspects are believed to be involved in the beating.
