A state judge has issued an arrest warrant for a woman who did not show up for her trial over animal cruelty.
The case dates back to 2010 when 16 horses were rescued from a Lihue ranch. They were all malnourished and emaciated.
Lara Butler-Brady was charged with 16 counts of animal cruelty.
Court records show her trial was scheduled to start on Monday, but she did not show up. Her attorney had no explanation.
Judge Trudy Senda issued a bench warrant for $2,500.
