The Article 32 hearing for a U.S. Marine charged with murder wrapped up Thursday afternoon at Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe Bay.

Master Sgt. Nathaniel Cosby is accused of killing Ivanice Harris from Oregon, who was in Hawaii celebrating her 29th birthday.

Her body was found near Yokohama Bay back in May.

Cosby sat in the courtroom on Thursday as the Honolulu medical examiner testified about injuries that caused Harris' death.

The medical examiner's report says she died from injuries to her neck.

The hearing officer will consider testimony and evidence and will make a recommendation to a superior officer.

The superior officer, Lt. Gen. Terry Robling, will then decide if Cosby will face a court martial.

Cosby's defense team released a statement saying, "When all the facts are before the court, the evidence will not prove him guilty. Until the sworn testimony is presented at trial, we ask that you respect the process of the military justice system and accord Master Sergeant Cosby the respect of not rushing to judgment when all the facts have yet to be established."
