Banyan Tree branch crashes onto Beretania Street
A large Banyan Tree branch crashed onto Beretania Street Sunday morning, requiring the closure of several lanes for a large part of Sunday.
The branch came down around 8 a.m. Sunday on the corner of Beretania and Punahou Streets fronting the Banyan Tree Plaza Condo building.
No serious injuries were reported, but the branch initially closed four lanes of the five lane road. Crews were able to clear some of the debris and open all but two of the lanes.
Those two lanes remained closed through Sunday afternoon.
It is not certain whether the incident was weather related.
